Frequently Asked Questions
What does Rombes do?
Rombes provides GPSR compliance support, EU representation support, and customs brokerage services for businesses selling into the EU and the UK.
We help businesses navigate cross-border product compliance, customs processes, documentation requirements, and EU-based representation where applicable.
Who are your services for?
Our services are designed for businesses selling goods across borders, including online sellers using marketplaces such as Amazon, Etsy, and Shopify.
We support individuals, SMEs, and growing businesses that need practical compliance and customs support when selling into the EU, the UK, or other cross-border markets.
Can Rombes act as an EU Responsible Person or Authorised Representative?
Rombes can provide EU-based representation support where the legal framework allows it and where the product, supply chain, and supporting documentation are suitable.
Under the GPSR framework, products placed on the EU market must have a responsible economic operator in place. Where a manufacturer appoints an authorised representative, this must be supported by a written mandate setting out the agreed compliance tasks.
Do all products fall under the GPSR in the same way?
No. The GPSR applies to many consumer products, but it does not replace product-specific legislation where sector-specific rules already apply.
Some products may therefore require additional or different compliance checks before we can confirm whether we are able to support them.
What do you need from me before services commence?
We will usually need information about your products, the number of SKUs, the countries where the products will be sold, and any available technical, safety and compliance documentation.
This helps us assess the product, confirm whether the service is suitable, and identify what information may be required for GPSR onboarding.
What is a written mandate?
A written mandate is the document by which a manufacturer appoints an authorised representative to carry out specified compliance tasks on its behalf.
The mandate confirms the scope of the appointment and sets out what the authorised representative is authorised to do.
Do you help with documentation and risk assessments?
Yes. Our EU representation packages can include support with documentation, control logs, and risk assessment templates.
We can help you organise the information needed for GPSR purposes, including product identification, safety information, warnings, manufacturer details, and supporting compliance records.
Do you store compliance documents?
Yes. Where required as part of our agreed service, we can retain relevant compliance documentation for 10 years in line with GPSR documentation expectations.
This helps ensure that key records are available if requested by a relevant market surveillance authority.
How many SKUs can you cover?
Our current EU representation packages cover:
Up to 50 SKUs for one month
Up to 100 SKUs for six months
Up to 200 SKUs for one year
Larger SKU volumes may be considered on request.
How much do your EU representation packages cost?
Our current pricing is:
€30 for one month
€160 for six months
€330 for one year
Alternative or bespoke packages may be available depending on the number of SKUs, product type, documentation requirements, and level of support needed.
Do you offer customs brokerage as well?
Yes. Rombes also provides customs brokerage support for EU-UK, non-EU to UK/EU, and wider rest-of-world shipments into the UK and EU.
What customs routes do you support?
We can support customs solutions across road, rail, sea, and air routes, depending on the shipment, location, and service required.
